REVIEW appeared on the December 2009 Wild Bunch

If the Italian science fiction had a face, nowadays, would be to Alberto Genovese , massively clicked Milanese director of the z-movie lover, who for years autoproduce futuristic short films, making harmless cauliflower and old appliances, monstrous aliens and futuristic robots. The "homemade" - never hidden but always heralded with much irony - has always been a cut above his amazing productions: Homemade and delicious as a nutritious meal in a restaurant family. Even when it raises its game, as in his latest work (as well as his first feature film), Invasion of Astornazi, the impact madly craft does not change simply goes further, more daring. And there really is to go further, given that the plot unfolds before our eyes, the brain of Hitler, taken by aliens aldebaraniani, back to relive fifty years after his death, undermining humanity: swastikas rotating invade the Earth! [...] "The first blockbuster done without money," screams the poster of Astronazi, take our word for it is to be seen that, compared to a lot of small investment (thousand €, inclusive of equipment) in the film, anything goes : buildings exploded, aerial photography, Godzilla-style giant monsters, flying saucers, aliens and other world environments ranging from Marrakesh to Paris, from Italy to Spain, touching on the Great Wall of China and Mount Rushmore. Invasion of Astronazi is a real journey into the weird and trash cinema, a heartfelt tribute to all those movies where the poor and inconclusive to date there has been no trace. And perhaps, that "bad" cinema than once, you love him and know him to fully enjoy the last effort of Genovese. Operation smarter than it seems, destined to become a cult.
